Wedding Photography at The Tupgill Estate
This lovely couple celebrated their church wedding with a reception at The Saddle Room. The Saddle Room is a stunning restaurant and venue next to the famous Forbidden Corner on the Tupgill Park Estate. It is near Leyburn which is in the glorious Yorkshire countryside.
It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed photographing here for the first time! There is so much potential for weddings at The Saddle Room, including multiple spots to have your ceremony. I hope to be back one day to photograph a ceremony in the Bell Barn with its beautiful feature fireplace or outside on the lawn.
At the Tupgill Park Estate, there is a stunning onsite venue called the Bell Barn which is perfect for a wedding reception. The barn really makes an impact when you walk in. It’s the perfect blend of modern and rustic. The beams look amazing and there is so much light from the windows which means it’s a dream for your wedding photographer!
The Drinks Reception
The bride and groom were first to arrive so we took the chance to get some couple photos with the amazing view over Leyburn and the Yorkshire Dales. The sun was in the perfect spot for some lovely backlit photos as they stood on the edge of the grass.
I loved being able to capture them waving as a bus full of their wedding guests made its way up the driveway! Real spontaneous moments like this are the reason I love photographing weddings.
Guests arrived at The Saddle Room and had canapés and drinks outside in the sun. This is my favourite time to take photos as there’s always so much going on. I love to capture all the smiles, laughter and hugs as everyone congratulates the couple. I always love taking photos of people enjoying canapés too!
Wedding Reception in The Bell Barn
The couple decorated their reception venue with lots of flowers and the tables had homemade cookies and mead for favours, which I loved. A family friend had even made all the bunting that you can see hanging from the beams! The Bell Barn has so much quaint charm with its feature fireplaces and stunning beams.
I like to sneak away from guests during the wedding reception to photograph the wedding breakfast room along with all the table details so you can always remember how everything looked. I know how important those photos are, especially with DIY weddings like this one where the favours are handmade.
The light from the windows is perfect for wedding photography so the speeches looked amazing. As well as photographing the speakers and reactions of the guests, I chose to shoot down from the balcony for a different point of view. I wanted to include the handmade bunting where I could and give my couple something a little bit different!
Why The Saddle Room is a great place to get married
The Saddle Room is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Leyburn. The venue offers space for an incredible outdoor ceremony (weather dependant) and onsite bedrooms too, so people don’t have to leave early.
There are so many lovely backdrops for photos at this venue even down to the beautiful North Yorkshire stone of the buildings.
There is so much potential for your own unique creative style of wedding. You can even arrange to visit the Forbidden corner on your wedding day!
