If you’re planning a fun wedding with a big party, you’ll love this wedding at The Arches!
When this couple first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning a really fun wedding at The Arches in Halifax which is one of my favourite venues to photograph. When they booked, they said they loved “the amazing way you capture the moment” and “the natural way you pick up emotions”. I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bridal Prep
I started at the bride’s house, where the bride and her friends were getting ready together, and it was really exciting because there was so much going on. Even the dog was involved in the getting ready process with his own tuxedo collar! The bridesmaid’s reactions to seeing the bride were amazing!
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was gorgeous! They had a live singer and acoustic guitarist, which was so beautiful. There was so much laughter during the ceremony which was great for me to capture. After the ceremony, they walked down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began!
The Afternoon
It was a bright and sunny day, which was glorious. While the guests enjoyed the live music in the bar area, we wandered around the mill complex to get some awesome natural portrait photos.
They’d decorated the tables with lots of greenery and little miniature wickets for the wedding reception as a nod to the groom’s love of sports. It was so wonderfully personalised!
The Wedding Reception
Speeches were loved by all their guests and there were so many incredible reactions to photograph which was great! For the wedding breakfast, they had a slap-up meal, and it was absolutely delicious. I always look forward to the food at The Arches!
During the reception, they had surprise singing waiters, which went down a storm. Afterwards, the party got started and the dancefloor stayed packed all evening. They also had another set from the singing waiters, which kept everyone entertained along with the DJ.
