I was so thrilled when this couple first got in touch with me about their wedding. They were planning the most relaxed autumnal wedding with a short and sweet ceremony and games and live music for the reception. They are the most laid back people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bridal Prep
I started photographing at the bride’s amazing home. The bridal party were getting ready before the big event, and it was so relaxed because everyone was in a great mood.
The bride wore a stunning dress with sleeves and a detachable train. She had stunning designer heels and the most beautiful autumnal wedding bouquet.
The bride’s dad surprised her with framed photos of their family, which was lovely to see. Her sisters gave everyone a taster of the song they were singing at the ceremony too. It was such a touching moment as the bride sat with her mum and dad to watch.
The Ceremony
The wedding took place at The Arches, Halifax and was a beautiful emotional service. The couple hugged before the ceremony began which was such a sweet moment. They had several beautiful readings from friends and family, which brought pretty much everyone to tears.
After the ceremony, they were showered with confetti, and then everyone headed to the bar. The groom gave a short speech stood on the table thanking everyone for coming.
Adventurous Couple Photos
Whilst guests were busy chatting, I whisked the bride and groom off for a wander around Dean Clough Mills for their couple photos.
I took some cool creative shots on the abandoned floor of the mill which was really special. My favourite photo from our couples session is where they’re standing on the top floor of the mill, lit by the windows. Check it out below!
On the way back we stopped for a few more photos outside Stod Fold on the cobbles.
The Reception
During the reception they two full-sized shuffleboard games, which went down a storm. The groom also made his own video booth for guests to leave their messages and everyone loved it.
For the wedding breakfast, they had a tapas-style sharing meal, and it was absolutely delicious.
Afterwards, the band started up and the party kicked off. They also had a photo booth, which everyone loved. A lot of the props made their way onto the dancefloor which was a great addition to their photos.
Testemonial
“We are so unbelievably impressed with all of the photos we’ve seen so far. She’s really genuinely lovely to work with, which means even grumpy photo-haters like me can be relaxed in front of the camera. We really love her colourful, informal style, and she even took some of our whackier ideas and turned them into something beautiful.”
I really enjoyed photographing this relaxed couple’s wedding! If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding then I’d love to hear from you!
